Jennifer’s career has always involved food in some way, starting with her very first job as a dishwasher. Originally from New England, at the end of her junior year in high school, Jennifer applied and was accepted to Johnson and Wales University in Providence, RI. During her time in college, she honed her skills by working summers in New York and Vermont, ending with her culinary externship at Walt Disney World in Orlando, which earned her a degree in Culinary Arts. After graduation, she continued to broaden her food experiences working on the East Coast, including hotels and restaurants in Connecticut and Virginia Beach.
Jennifer started working at the Petroleum Club as the Director of Catering in 1992 and successfully carried out the responsibilities of the role for 21 years. Due to excellence in her work and extreme attention to detail, she was then promoted to General Manager in 2013. She is passionate about the Petroleum Club and considers it an honor to serve all of the members.
Originally from Houston, Wesley attended the Art Institute and began his career working with a local catering company for five years. Looking to diversify his experience, he moved to Rio de Janeiro. He familiarized himself with local cuisine while working at Albamar and Lorenzo’s, two well known and established restaurants in the area. After many years abroad, Wesley stepped in as interim executive chef at Pierremont Oaks Tennis Club in Shreveport until he joined the Petroleum Club in January 2015, where he continues to add flair and creativity to our cuisine.
Executive Pastry Chef
Sarah has been the Executive Pastry Chef for the Petroleum Club since 2014. She can create traditional favorites with an urban flare! Whether members are looking for her famous homemade cheesecake or a mascarpone crème stuffed ravioli complete with liquid nitrogen ice cream – Sarah makes it happen in her own unique way! Graduating from culinary school in 2009, partnered with education in business management, Sarah made her first big step into the industry in 2013, working at Aly B’s Bakery, where she excelled and added tangible value and creativity to the team for two full years. Sarah’s skills have allowed her to work on a wide array of projects ranging from sizeable upscale rehearsal dinners, members events, the Petroleum Club’s Holiday Cookie Decorating Class for Kids, and Shreveport Geological Society Wine Dinners where hand-crafted sweet endings are paired with robust wines from all over the world. In the summer of 2018, Sarah also lent her skills to Bossier Parish Community College, where she taught cooking classes for kids, which she enjoyed very much!
Lisa Brown has been with the club for over 20 years and is the Business Manager. She is responsible for supervising and managing the daily business operations of the Club and its employees. She handles all the accounting duties of payables, receivables, and payroll.
She is the perfect “Go-to Girl” and helps keep things running smoothly and efficiently.
Director of Special Events & Catering
Teresa comes to us from Las Vegas, Nevada, but has been in the area for the last 5 years. She earned her Bachelor of Science and Masters in Hospitality with an emphasis on event planning. She is currently finishing her Doctorate in Education. She has worked at Barksdale Air Force Base as the Catering Manager, Food & Beverage Manager, and a Club Operations Assistant Manager. Before arriving at the Petroleum Club, Teresa worked as the Event Coordinator at the CenturyLink Center, planning and executing many sold-out concerts to include Foo Fighters, Pink, and Paul McCartney.
Director of Membership
Deana comes to us with a Retail Sales & Hospitality Management Background. Originally from Georgia, she was the Club Secretary at the Georgian Club in Atlanta. She also calls South Georgia her home and enjoyed living at the beach and being the Club Concierge, then Catering Conference Services Manager as the Wedding Director’s Assistant at the Ritz Carlton, Amelia Island.
Her primary focus has been to assist our members with Club services. She is that pleasant “voice on the phone” when you call, and she makes it easy for you to access the information you need.
When you want to know today’s menu, just call Deana. If you want to make reservations for lunch or other members’ events, Deana will take care of it. If you are traveling and would like to avail of the services of one of our reciprocal clubs, Deana can make the arrangements for you.
Dining Room Manager
When you step to the door of the main dining room, the person you’ll most likely meet will be Michael Jeter, our Dining Room Manager. His exceptional customer service makes him an invaluable member of the Petroleum Club team.
Starting as a waiter and bartender at the Club more than 25 years ago, Michael is very aware of every station in the dining room. In constant tune with the rhythm of the dining room activity, Michael keeps a watchful eye on all tables, making sure that there is always someone there to quickly serve the members. His total focus is to be sure your dining experience at the Club is an excellent one, and his staff is well-trained to ensure that is the case.
On your first visit as a member, Michael will exchange introductions with you. From that meeting forward, He will remember and call you by name. Very impressive. And just another example of the excellence of service at the Petroleum Club.
